Inquiry: Photographer Nubar Alexanian : Non-Fiction: Photographs From The Film Sets of Errol Morris

Tonight, Inquiry welcomes internationally acclaimed photographer NUBAR ALEXANIAN, who talks about his stunning current show at Clark University titled NON FICTION: PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE FILM SETS OF ERROL MORRIS.

For many years now, Nubar has accompanied Errol as Errol has made some of his most famous documentary films including “Fast, Cheap, and Out Of Control”; “Mr. Death” and the award-winning “Standard Operating Procedure”. But Nubar Alexanian’s photographs are not simply production stills for these films, but rather complex and personal meditations of the subject matter, sometimes at odds with Morris’ ideas. Traveling from a scientist’s lab studying mole rat behavior to the horrors of Auschwitz-Birkenau, to startling re-enactments of the tortures meted out at Abu Ghraib, Alexanian’s photographs challenge the viewer to investigate the power of photography in determining reality and our emotional responses. This show is one view at Clark University, Worcester till November 14. For more information on gallery hours, et, go to:
