MacTalla Mór perform a dynamic and lyrical mix of Traditional Celtic, Roots Rock, Calypso, Blues and Jazz that melt the walls between genres. This musical family's original songs, arrangements and driving rhythms create an engaging and magical blend of the past and the present. Tonight’s performance of Wednesday Folk Traditions with the Celtic group MacTalla Mor Band will be moved indoors to the Wesley United Methodist Church, 98 North Maple Street, Hadley MA 01035. Swingin' in Mothers Rest is a way of bringing families and people of all ages together to experience live jazz in this historic park. Each year, Swingin' in Mothers Rest presents Berklee's talented up-and-coming students, and renowned professors and alumni, performing a variety of jazz styles.
Featured this evening: Berklee Jazz Workshop directed by Terri Lyne Carrington and Rick DiMuzio: The Berklee Jazz Workshop is comprised of the best and brightest high school jazz players from around the country who are studying at Berklee under acclaimed drummer Terri Lyne Carrington, artistic director of the Summer Jazz Workshop during the Five-Week Summer Performance Program. Co-directing the ensemble is saxophonist Rick DiMuzio, assistant professor of ear training. The ensemble plans to play standards, jazz arrangements of popular songwriters, and original student compositions.
Folding chairs, blankets, and picnic dinners are encouraged. The event is wheelchair accessible. For more information please call 617-747-2447.

An All-Star band representing the very best journeymen of the Boston/New York music scenes, with roots in R&B, Rock and Roll and country. The Mystix are rapidly gaining recognition for their unique sound, featuring inspired original material and superbly crafted arrangements, as showcased in their new CD, "Blue Morning."
The Boston Phoenix says guitarist Bobby Keyes "evokes an entire era of classic playing" having recorded with Jerry Lee Lewis, Ben E. King, and New Kids on the Block to name a few, and has been a studio player at the legendary Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals.

Steve Howard is a singer songwriter who, although based in New England, has performed his music all over the country. He has worked and shared the stage with many noted performers from Tom Rush and Jamie Brockett to Jerry Garcia, Peter Rowan, Dave Bromburg, Juice Newton and Lacy J. Daltron. His songs are stories, sometimes serious, at times humorous but each with Steve's unique style and craftsmanship.
Come on down and share a song, a poem or play something for the always attentive and willing audience. Come and sign up beginning at 6:30pm. Bring your friends.
