Songwriter, novelist and balladeer Bill Morrissey will step you through the process he uses in writing his award winning songs. This two hour workshop will be shaped by the attendees desires but will cover what Bill feels is the most important ideas in the craft - including economic use of lyrics, music as a frame, and rhythmic thinking. Also Bill will spend time teaching the Peidmont guitar style that he uses extensively in his work. Piedmont or East Coast blues is characterized by a highly syncopated guitar technique that is comparable in sound to ragtime piano.
