Manolo Mairena
Manolo Mairena, native of Costa Rica, came to the U.S at the age of sixteen. He settled in Worcester, Massachusetts and began his musical career as a percussionist performing traditional Puerto Rican music. The major Latin bands in Boston soon heard Maraina and recruited him for their projects, including Tropical Sound, Mango Blue, La Timba Loca and Balatón. But nothing compares to the sounds of Son Montuno, Guajira, Bomba, Bolero and Salsa. These are the sounds of Curubande and Manolo Mairena; a traditional ensemble rooted in traditions of the popular Latin bands of the 1960s and 70s, but with a modern approach.

Jacqui Naylor
Jacqui Naylor can only be described as supremely versatile.
This San Francisco-based vocalist and songwriter shines through jazz, pop, and rock
while adding touches of gospel, folk, blues, and even a little humor
into the mix.

They're melodies you hear again and again; songs that have inspired a thousand albums --but do you know their stories?
