She has written none previous books on film, and I DO AND I DON’T: A HISTORY OF MARRIAGE IN THE MOVIES is an insightful, witty and thought provoking history of the evolution of marriage in the movies. Why have environmentalists stopped talking about the critical problem of overpopulation? The authors in this book feel that the global population explosion coupled with the expectation of perpetual growth is the engine driving almost all environmental problems from extinctions to global climate change. But what can be done about it?

In an encore episode, Steve D'Agostino of Best Rate of Climb interviews Gary Pfeil, president of Roche Brothers, a chain of supermarkets based in Wellesley, MA. They talk about how supermarket chains are filling their profit baskets in a tough economy. 

Since 2009, Gary Pfeil has been president of Roche Brothers, which is owned and operated by brothers Ed and Rick Roche. He had been with the company since 1996 and was named vice president and general manager in 2004.

Rolling Roots Revue

A t least once a year, usually in the Spring, several Wepecket artists board "Vanessa," Jack's 1993 Ford van, and perform in concert halls, churches, houses, libraries, taverns and coffeehouses for three weeks or so.

We have toured extensively in the Midwest, the Atlantic Seaboard and the Deep South, and will soon be expanding our reach into the Pacific Northwest.

What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? w/Rockport High School Madrigal Choir

Presented by What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? and Poison Peach Productions.

What Time Is It, Mr. Fox? is making music that feels exposed and personal, but cinematic in scope. The Boston/NYC band blends baroque pop with soul noir, conjuring up something like the dark-tinged drama of Florence + The Machine, the roots of Aretha Franklin, and the songcraft of the Decemberists.

Miranda Russell

Rockport audiences have packed the house for the past two years to see the North shore's own Miranda Russell and her extraordinary five-piece band. A powerful and moving vocalist, Miranda's performance centers on nuanced treatments of a wide range of favorites from Joni Mitchell to Cole Porter. She "will knock your socks off - should you be wearing any this close to the beach." (The Boston Phoenix). Her dynamic interpretation and delivery of popular songs by such luminaries as Paul Simon, Gillian Welch, and Richard Thompson have become crowd-favorites in her pop repertoire.

Poco Acoustic Trio

Poco-- founded in 1968 by Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Richie Furay (Buffalo Springfield) and Jim Messina (Buffalo Springfield, Loggins & Messina)--was one of the earliest bands in the “country rock” genre that was later popularized by bands such as the Eagles. The group found platinum success early in their career and played alongside legends like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and The Who.

Tamir Hendelman Trio

Award-winning jazz pianist and composer Tamir Hendelman moved from Tel-Aviv to Los Angeles at age twelve and has been performing across the US, Europe, and Asia ever since. Hendelman has performed and recorded with such notable artists as Barbra Streisand, Natalie Cole, and John Pizzarelli. He has received awards from ASCAP and the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts, and his latest album Destinations hit number one on the JazzWeek Jazz Charts. Hendelman’s trio explores standards, Brazilian music, blues, and Hendelman’s own Israeli roots.

Patty Larkin, Singer/Songwriter

Heralded as “riveting” (Chicago Tribune) and “hypnotic” (Entertainment Weekly), Patty Larkin is a self-described “guitar driven songwriter” with an impressive 25 year career as one of the great voices of the contemporary urban folk scene. A winner of an unprecedented 11 Boston Music Awards, Larkin has re-interpreted traditional folk and rock melodies with her distinctive vocals and guitar wizardry. On her latest CD 25, she uses her remarkable guitar skills and creative vocals to rework favorite songs by friends like Martin Sexton and Shawn Colvin in an acoustic, unplugged performance.
