Maria Shriver's annual report on the economic status on women has been met with criticism.With a focus on financial insecurity, The Shriver Report: A Woman's Nation Pushes Back from the Brink, co-sponsored by the Center for American Progress, pushes government-centered policy prescriptions as solutions to American women's lives and wellbeing.  Are women really no better off than they were 30 or 40 years ago? This week Al is joined by Charlotte Hayes, who believes women have made great strides and are not dependent on government handouts.

Legally Blonde: The Musical

Based on the 2001 film starring Reese Witherspoon, this high-energy musical features music and lyrics by Laurence O'Keefe and Nell Benjamin and book by Heather Hach. This performance will be presented by Berklee's Musical Theater Ensemble, directed by faculty member Rene Pfister, and the Musical Theater Orchestra, directed by Professor Peter Cokkinias. Elle Woods is the Delta Nu sorority's sweetheart and homecoming queen who doesn’t take "no" for an answer. When her boyfriend, Warner, dumps her for someone "serious," Elle puts down the credit cards, hits the books, and heads to Harvard.

Donna McElroy, Natalia Sulca, Jennifer Hoyt, Nigel Tay, Gabriela Carrillo, and Tickwanya Jones will present memorable performances of some of the best songs ever written.

Sun Ra, founder of the Sun Ra Arkestra, was a true visionary known as a cosmic poet, bandleader, and avant garde jazz composer. Celebrate Sun Ra’s 100th birthday with Dave Clarke's Berklee Faculty Inter-Galactic Sun Ra Astro-Infinity Myth Equation Commemorative Arkestra. The group will be joined by original Sun Ra Arkestra members Marshall Allen, Charles Davis, and Danny Ray Thompson.
