Twelve musical groups will be entertaining strollers from 6 to 9:30 PM in stores, restaurants and galleries along the way. Beginning on Palmer Ave. at 6 p.m., the time schedule for performances will be staggered to allow the public to hear and enjoy the musicians in a leisurely manner.
A native of Kobe, Japan, renowned jazz pianist Yoko Miwa was voted Best Jazz Act in Boston in 2012. Her early classical training gave way to jazz as she honed her skills working as an accompanist in Japanese jazz clubs.
Following the great Kobe earthquake of 1995, Miwa auditioned for a scholarship to the Berklee College of Music, won first place, and moved to Boston where she formed a strong bond with vocal great Kevin Mahogany, who chose her as his accompanist.
