Matt Boland Trio

"The Matt Boland Trio is a Boston-based jazz trio playing interpretations of traditional, contemporary and Latin jazz standards in a guitar, acoustic bass and drums format with a hint of early Bill Evans traditionalism. MBT is a new trio, with Jack Morash on Drums, Charlie Recchia on bass and Matt Boland on electric and acoustic guitars. They've been performing to the delight of audiences all over Massachusetts at local venues, events and weddings.

Markus Pinney Trio

The trio performing this evening has Markus Pinney on piano along with drummer, Grant Smith and bassist, Ralph Pepe. Markus Pinney displays his talents as an accomplished jazz pianist, composer, arranger and stylistic vocalist. He has played in and around the greater Boston area for over 20 years with his 'mp3' jazz trio. Both Grant Smith and Ralph Pepe have been performing in and around New England for over 25 years.

With his clean baritone, he has an affinity for songs that tell a story, evoke a treasured memory, or are just plain fun.

Darlene Bailey

Singer Songwriter Darlene Bailey, whose music has been compared to the likes of Emmylou Harris, Janis Ian, Suzanne Vega & Rita Coolidge, performs multi-genre covers in folk, country, blues and soft rock, as well as her own original works; some of which appear on her 2011 “Wrenches & Rags” CD.

Harvey Diamond & Jon Dreyer

Legendary pianist Harvey Diamond and bassist Jon Dreyer perform jazz standards and songs from the Great American Songbook, "honing gems...into personal statements that leave us yearning for more...Diamond is a master of both melody and harmony much like his predecessors in the legacy of jazz piano, Bill Evans and Lennie Tristano." The duo will be performing for us the evening of every 2nd Saturday of the month as well as every Saturday brunch time.

Morgan Scott Trio

Appearing the first Friday of each month at The Java Room, the trio consists of Morgan Scott on piano, Sven Larson on bass and Ed Conley on drums, percussion. “We create adventurous music of the moment...”spontaneous composition” at times and traditional jazz standards at others. Sometimes a quick burst of an idea comes across one of our minds’ ear, and if we are free of ourselves we let that idea emerge. The rest of the group will react to the idea, or the idea presented exists as a counterpoint to whatever is already going on in the music.
