Audrey Hall

General Manager

When she joined WICN as General Manager, Audrey Hall returned to the radio roots of her media career which launched during college as a DJ playing 70's rock music while also working as a news reporter for the top public station in the country at the time, WEBR News and Jazz Radio. While music was her pleasure, news became her bread and butter as a broadcast journalist for NBC affiliate WIVB-TV, and as a radio reporter and announcer.

From there Audrey moved into the advertising agency business working first in account management and then in network programming at Benton & Bowles Advertising. From that perspective she identified an untapped opportunity and charted a course into the cable television industry. She developed and built one of the first local cable television advertising sales operations in the New York market working with MTV, CNN, ESPN and SportsChannel while collaborating with the newly established Cable Advertising Bureau. It was a trail blazing success which changed the face of advertising and grew into a core business in the cable television industry. She shared her expertise throughout the industry as a speaker, consultant, trainer and writer. She went on to manage marketing, sales, advertising, public relations and programming for American Cablesystems Corp. and Continental Cablevision at the local, regional, district and corporate levels. She was recruited into General Management which began a nine year journey of building, transitioning, and growing overall cable television system operations for both Sutton Capital Associates, L.P. and Cablevision Systems Corporation. When Audrey left the cable industry her goal was to create a balanced "portfolio" lifestyle conducive to quality family life. She founded a strategic marketing and communications consulting practice and also donated her time and services to many non-profit organizations serving in officer and board member roles. Her commitment to public service keeps her involved in local government as an elected Town Meeting Member and Chairman of the Standing Committee on Ways and Means in her hometown of Framingham, MA. She continues to produce and host a cable TV talk show which can be seen regularly on Comcast Cable, RCN and Verizon Fios.

Music is an invigorating and comforting "companion" in Audrey's life. She believes it nourishes her soul and energizes her creativity. She is a big fan and loyal supporter of public broadcasting. Audrey describes WICN as a treasure chest filled with some of radio's most unique and valuable jewels.
