Mushrooms are amazing. They are not plants but are in a Kingdom all their own. They come in a dizzying array of forms and colors. Some smell like old socks while others can smell of garlic, Camembert Cheese or coal tar. Some are delectable, while others are deadly. On this episode of Inquiry, we welcome back RICHARD FORTEY. Professor Fortey is a celebrated scientist, writer, and television presenter with a long career in paleontology at the Natural History Museum in London. Tonight we are talking about his new book: CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FUNGAL KIND: IN PURSUIT OF REMARKABLE MUSHROOMS. (photo by Sheila Carroll)
