Gary Bohan
Gary Bohan is the newest WICN host. You’ll hear him filling in for hosts on Jazz Highways, Standard Time, and more.
Gary is a trumpet player who has performed and recorded with the Klezmer Conservatory Band, the Jazz Composers Alliance Orchestra, and Portrait in Jazz, among others. He has also composed several tunes, including tributes to idols such as Lee Morgan, Horace Silver, and Poncho Sanchez.
Gary is also a writer. He recently authored Sharkey: When Sea Lions Were Stars of Show Business (SUNY Press), winner of the 2022 Foreword INDIES Book of the Year in the Performing Arts & Music category. In addition, Gary is a licensed professional engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and works for a small consulting firm.
Gary lives in Upton with his family. For 17 years, he served on the Town of Upton Planning Board.
