As you may know, public media stations across the country have recently been hit by significant federal funding cuts. For WICN Public Radio, this means a loss of 18% which is $99,400 each year that we will have to fill.

Since 1968, WICN has been a vital voice for arts and culture in Central Massachusetts, connecting listeners to our history, our region, and the world.  Everything we do at WICN is for YOU, because you consistently remind us that music matters — that storytelling, culture, and history still belong on the radio.

This funding cut put tremendous pressure on what we do and what we bring you. From all of the live concerts we have been able to bring you, Holiday Jazz Jam, Brown Bag, the Brian Barlow Concert Series or our Emerging Artists series, we’ve been able to amplify the voices of our community by offering artists a platform to share their passions, supporting rising talent, educating local youth, and preserving the rich legacy of jazz and more for generations to come.

The loss of public funding impacts what listeners, members, and supporters like you have helped build over the past 57 years. But regardless of what happens in Washington, WICN is here to stay.

Please consider making a one-time donation or increasing your sustaining membership. A sustaining donation gives WICN the security of a steady, reliable stream of income that allows us to put funds toward what really matters to you: the programs you hear on WICN.
