Maeve Gilchrist featuring
Kyle Sanna & Rasa Quartet

“No, you haven’t landed in heaven. You’re listening to the Celtic harp of Maeve Gilchrist.” – NPR

Described as “a phenomenal harp player who can make her instrument ring with unparalleled purity,” Silk Road Ensemble member and Scottish native Maeve Gilchrist has taken the Celtic (lever) harp to new levels of performance and visibility. She has released five critically-acclaimed albums and has appeared with such celebrities as Yo-Yo Ma, Esperanza Spalding, Tony Trischka, Ambrose Akinmusire, Darol Anger, and Kathy Mattea. Maeve is as at home as a soloist with an internationally renowned orchestra as she is playing with a traditional Irish folk group or using electronic augmentation in a more contemporary, improvisatory setting. Her recent albums have illuminated her roots as a traditional folk musician through the prism of luscious string parts, electronic manipulation, and an archived recitation of The Ballad of the Harpweaver, by the poet who became a celebrity of Jazz-Age America, Edna St Vincent Millay.

Kittel & Co

“Kittel’s group… takes the string band tradition to marvellously rarefied levels of collective virtuosity. Playing a repertoire from bluegrass to Bach to a strathspey and reel set… [they] sounded thrillingly spontaneous.” -Times UK

Led by acclaimed violinist Jeremy Kittel (formerly of the Grammy-winning Turtle Island Quartet), Kittel & Co. (“Kid-dle and Koh”) inhabits the space between classical and acoustic roots, Celtic and bluegrass aesthetics, and folk and jazz sensibilities. Some of the greatest musicians in the incredible acoustic scene, the members of Kittel & Co. have collaborated with Béla Fleck, Sarah Jarosz, Chris Thile, and Yo-Yo Ma. Together, Jeremy Kittel and mandolin phenom Josh Pinkham, transcendent guitarist Quinn Bachand, bassist Jacob Warren, and hammer-dulcimer wizard Simon Chrisman coalesce into a singular voice that’s thrilled audiences from the Telluride Bluegrass Festival to A Prairie Home Companion. “[Kittel & Co.] takes the string band tradition to marvelously rarefied levels of collective virtuosity…. thrillingly spontaneous” –Times UK. Grammy-nominated Kittel & Co. will get your toes tapping and lift you out of your seat.
