Melanie Perreault-LeBoeuf / Development Director
Melanie Perreault-LeBoeuf, WICN’s Executive Director, grew up in Lewiston, Maine, and moved to Massachusetts in 1996 to attend college. She is a 2000 graduate of Framingham State University with a degree in Human Services and a minor in Psychology.
Melanie spent the first 20 years of her career with youth programs in Worcester, including 16 years at Big Brother Big Sisters of Central Mass/Metrowest, with 10 of those years as Vice President of Programs and Outreach. In this role, Melanie oversaw all aspects of BBBS programming, including an expansion from 150 students to over 1,400. She worked closely with a variety of stakeholders, including staff, volunteers, other community organizations, the BBBS Board of Directors, and corporate partners.
From 2016-2018, she was the Site Director of Bottom Line Worcester. Bottom Line’s mission is to help low-income, first-generation students get accepted to, and graduate from, college, and excel in life. She also worked at the Girls Scouts as the Development Manager before joining WICN Public Radio.
Melanie is a long-time member of the Junior League of Worcester (JLW) and was President of the JLW in 2015. She has also been a volunteer Big Sister for 20 years, a board member for Girls Choice; was a Worcester Business Journal “40 Under Forty” Awardee in 2019; a two-time Worcester Public School Thomas Jefferson Awardee, and the 2010 Girls Inc. Advocate for Girls honoree.
Melanie is excited to join the WICN Public Radio family and is looking forward to expanding the reach of the radio station and providing more opportunities for youth programming for the station. Melanie lives in Webster with her husband, 14-year-old stepson, and three-year-old daughter. She loves boating, swimming and being outdoors. She is also very involved with the Cystic Fibrosis community, as her daughter Evelyn was born with CF.
