But tonight’s guest on Inquiry believes that understand Poe’s life and work, we must pay attention to his engagements with scientific thought and discoveries of his time. Our guest tonight is JOHN TRESCH. He is a Professor of History of Art, Science, and Folk Practice at the Warburg Institute in the University of London. His new book is: THE REASON FOR THE DARKNESS OF THE NIGHT/EDGAR ALLAN POE AND THE FORGING OF AMERICAN SCIENCE.
