Roger Pasquier – Birds in Winter

March 9, 2020

How does a tiny chickadee survive the winter in the northern woods where temperatures may go down to 20 degrees below zero? What is winter like for warblers that breed in Massachusetts forests, but overwinter in Central America? In this episode on Inquiry, we talk with ROGER F. PASQUIER. He is a life-long birder and has had a career with the International Council for Bird Conservation, the Environmental Defense Fund, and the National Audubon Society. He is currently an associate in the Department of Ornithology at the American Museum of Natural History. We will be discussing his latest book: BIRDS IN WINTER: SURVIVING THE MOST CHALLENGING SEASON.
