Sure, peacocks are beautiful to look at, but what would it be like to have some as pets? The guest on this episode of Inquiry is reporter and writer SEAN FLYNN, decided having three peafowls around his small “farm” would be interesting, and therein lies a tale that includes accounts from ancient Greece and India, Darwin’s theory about the fowl’s train, serial killings of peacocks, and many expensive trips to the bird vet. It’s a wild and wonderful tale told in Flynn’s book: WHY PEACOCKS? AN UNLIKELY SEARCH FOR MEANING IN THE WORLD’S MOST MAGNIFICENT BIRD.
