Most of us only see meteorites as “shooting stars”. But over 10,000 tons of these extraterrestrial rocks fall to earth every year. Some come from asteroids. Some even come from Mars. Some of them can tell us how our solar system was formed. To learn about some of the secrets of the meteorites, tune in tonight on Inquiry we talk with TIM GREGORY. He is a cosmochemistry research scientist at the British Geological Survey in Nottingham. He will be talking about his new book METEORITES: HOW STONES FROM OUTER SPACE MADE OUR WORLD.
