You can see them on ancient Assyrian tablets. You may spot one carved on a medieval church. They decorated maps of the oceans during the Age of Exploration. You could even spot one on a can of tuna! They are merpeople, mermaids, and mermen who have captured the imaginations of many cultures since ancient times.
