In his new book; Not A Gentleman’s Work author and former CBS news editor Gerard Koeppel tells the untold story of the gruesome murders aboard the “Herbert Fuller” which sailed out of Boston in 1896. Three people including the captain, his wife, and a second mate were brutally axed to death while at sea. This misguided case has brought to light the issues of a coerced confession, capital punishment, and the establishment of the Miranda rights.
