In Victorian Britain, there was a mania for orchids. Expeditions were sent around the world to find and procure the latest exotic species. But one orchid in particular was sought after more than any other. And that is the subject of tonight’s Inquiry. We talk with writer SARAH BILSTON. She is Professor of English Literature at Trinity College. Her new book is THE LOST ORCHID: A STORY OF VICTORIAN PLUNDER AND OBSESSION.
