Catch “Colors” as Bonnie Johnson talks with the iconic multi-Grammy® winning producer, composer, keyboardist and vocalist, Sérgio Mendes. In a career that has spanned five decades, Mendes has carried the torch of Bossa Nova into the 21st century.
From recording more than 35 albums; topping the billboard charts, leading several bands including Brasil ‘66, collaborating with an array of contemporary jazz and pop artists, directing music and capturing the sounds of Brazil in the Oscar® nominated trilogy Rio, a new album as well as a documentary film, “Sérgio Mendes In The Key Of Joy” are set to be released in 2020.
Mendes takes the stage with Bossa Nova vocalist and daughter of João Gilberto with a debut in the Celebrity Series of Boston at Berklee Performance Center on Friday, October 18, 2019. They have been on tour celebrating the music and paying homage to the 60-year legacy.
