The WICN Brian Barlow Concert Series, presented by Westboro Toyota, welcomes Shawnn Monteiro and her Trio on Friday, March 27, at 7:30 pm. at The Robert R. Jay Performing Arts Center, Founders Hall, Saint John’s High School in Shrewsbury.

“Exciting, captivating, and completely distinctive” are words often used by jazz cognoscenti to describe vocalist Shawnn Monteiro’s pulsating lyrical style. From the intimacy of club performances to the glamour of Las Vegas showrooms, Monteiro has captivated audiences with a celebrated jazz repertoire infused with blues-oriented improvisation.

Monteiro will perform with her trio—Matt DeChamplain on piano, Dave Zinno on bass, and Ryan Sands on drums—and has also been named WICN’s Artist of the Month for March, recognizing her continued impact on the jazz tradition.

The Brian Barlow Concert Series honors the late former general manager of WICN and celebrates his lifelong love and passion for the performing arts. The series brings outstanding live performances to the community while continuing Barlow’s commitment to artistic excellence.
