Bio: David Ginsburg, a Worcester native, joined WICN in October 2018 as General Manager and Program Director. David has a background in both radio promotions and music programming, earned during a long tenure at 92.9 WBOS in Boston. He transitioned to social media marketing during a stint at a Boston-area media agency before forming his own social media marketing consultancy, Rose Atwater Social and eventually joining Hollywood Agency in Hingham, MA as Digital Marketing Director.
Over the past 15 years, David has worked with a variety of businesses and agencies, crafting successful social and digital marketing strategies for clients ranging from entertainment and hospitality to healthcare and nonprofit organizations. In doing so, he quickly learned that radio and social media share a similar goal: to build, sustain and engage a vibrant community.
As WICN General Manager, David continues to build on the rich legacy of the station. With an outstanding team of staff members and volunteer hosts in place, the opportunity to help the station continue its growth in conjunction with the renewed energy of the City of Worcester was too good to pass up!
David brings a lifelong passion for music to the role. His father was a major collector of classical and Broadway vinyl albums and shaped David’s enthusiasm for all kinds of music, from Motown R&B, Blues and Jazz, to Rock ‘n’ Roll and Classical. This fits beautifully with WICN’s “Jazz+” programming ethos.
David is a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and has earned numerous professional certifications as well. He brings broad experience, local roots, and a love of radio to WICN and our growing community.
In his personal life, David lives in the Tatnuck Square area with his beloved rescue dog, Pearl. He’s an avid reader, exercise enthusiast, occasional blogger, aspiring author, and halfway decent cook.
