Marty Ayotte has been in radio since 1984, starting at KTEK (1110 AM Alvin TX) Christian radio in Houston Texas in 1984, with duties selling advertising and running prerecorded Sunday morning church services. He’s now the host of Blues Hit Big Town, airing every other Monday evening at 10 pm on 90.5 WICN.
Marty is also an active musician in two working ensembles, playing harp in both country and blues styles and doing hand percussion as well. He’s sat in at Layla’s on Lower Broadway and The Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar on Printer’s Alley in Nashville and W.C. Handy’s on Beale Street in Memphis. He’s also an athlete with 17 medals (4 golds) in sit skiing as well as having completed 12 marathons on a handcycle, including the New York City Marathon in 2011 (2:30:59).
