Tom Lucci / Host; Member, WICN Board of Directors
Tom Lucci shows
Tom has hosted “Standard Time” on Mondays since 2015. He got a regular on-air spot after ten years on the WICN Board of Directors, including four terms as President. He served as Interim General Manager from 2015 to 2017 – where he sat in the same office he’d occupied as CFO of Davis Publications, owner of the Printers Building. He gives back to the Worcester community through WICN, and by his work at low-income housing agency Matthew 25, for which he was recently named “Volunteer of the Decade.”
Previously, his career took him through finance and marketing gigs in publishing and manufacturing. ‘Way back in the day, he was Program Director of WESU in Middletown CT, the nation’s second-oldest college station, and studied and performed with Sam Rivers, Makanda Ken McIntyre, Ed Blackwell, Jay Hoggard, and other notables.
Tom has been a music-and radio-lover practically since birth, as was recounted in a High Fidelity magazine article by his late father called “Raise Your Own Audiophiles.” At home, he plays family heirloom LPs, as well as his own jazz, soul, rock, and classical treasures, on a McIntosh HiFi). He continues to blow his baritone and tenor saxophones with The Roy Scott Big Band and other groups.
