James Scott: Empire of Ashes

During World War II, the US was fighting a war that seemed endless and accounted for the loss of millions of lives. This week on “The Public Eye,” Al speaks with Pulitzer Prize finalist and noted historian James Scott, whose new book, “Empire of Ashes,” traces the decision of President Harry S. Truman and other government officials to bring a halt to war by using nuclear weapons on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
