We are all familiar with insect pollinators and their crucial importance for maintaining populations of flowering plants. But what about vertebrate pollinators like hummingbirds and bats? Tonight on Inquiry we talk with THEODORE H. FLEMING. He is a world authority on the biology of plant-visiting phyllostomid bats and has conducted research in Panama, Costa Rica, Australia, Mexico, and Arizona. We will be discussing his new book: BIRDS, BATS, AND BLOOMS:THE COEVOLUTION OF VERTEBRATE POLLINATORS AND THEIR PLANTS.
