The Brown Bag Concert Series, presented by Mechanics Hall and 90.5 FM WICN, has been a beloved tradition in Worcester since 1983. These free, hour-long concerts by acclaimed regional and national performers take place in the Great Hall on select Wednesdays from noon to 1 pm.
Bring your own “brown bag” lunch, or enjoy light concessions available for purchase, and take in a wonderful performance in one of America’s great concert halls. Cabaret-style seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

March 4 Midori

Midori is a visionary artist, activist and educator who explores and builds connections between music and the human experience. In the four decades since her debut with the New York Philharmonic at age 11, the “simply magical” (Houston Chronicle) violinist has performed with many of the world’s most prestigious orchestras and has collaborated with world-renowned musicians including Leonard Bernstein, Yo-Yo Ma, and many others.


March 11 Andrew Wilcox

Andrew is one of Hartford’s rising young musicians. Originally from Boylston, MA, Andrew has proven himself to be a talented young pianist, with a passion to learn, grow and play. After moving to Hartford at age 18, Andrew quickly sought out his elders and began building relationships with them.


March 18 Women in World Jazz

Women in World Jazz, a performing all women ensemble, was founded by Tal Shalom-Kobi in 2015.  Women in World Jazz aims to expose audiences to different cultures through music, with a variety of music backgrounds including jazz, folk, pop, rock and blues.


March 25 Daniel Bennett Group New York saxophonist Daniel Bennett has been hailed as one of the most original and unpredictable musical voices of his generation. The Boston Globe described Bennett’s music as, “a mix of Jazz, Folk and Minimalism.” The Daniel Bennett Group is celebrating the release of their 10th studio album, ‘Mr. Bennett’s Mind.’ Timeout New York called the music, “hypnotic!” Daniel Bennett is joined by master percussionist Koko Bermejo on drums and keyboard. Rounding out the trio is acclaimed six-string bassist Kevin Hailey.
