WICN’s Halloween Programming

Celebrate Halloween with WICN with our 3rd annual radio special!

Start the night with Darrell Brogdon and Retro Cocktail Hour’s Halloween Hijinks.  There will be plenty of spooky, silly, spine-tingling, frightfully delicious sounds.

In 1938, Orson Welles directed and narrated a live radio broadcast adaptation of “The War of the Worlds” on The Mercury Theatre anthology series on the CBS Radio Network…and triggered a panic! Some listeners believed an actual Martian invasion was happening in central New Jersey. The infamous Mercury Theatre series opened with Dracula, also narrated by Welles.

On Halloween night 2025, WICN Public Radio will air three hours of Retro Cocktail Hour, Dracula, and The War of the Worlds starting at 7 pm.
