Many of us swear, at least at times. If you drop a rock on your toe, it’s not considered that impolite to let off with several expletives. But if you swear during a presidential debate, the press will go into overdrive of criticism. What makes a swear so bad? Is it ever ok to swear? These are just a few of the questions we will discuss when we talk to the guest on this episode of Inquiry REBECCA ROACHE. She is Senior Lecturer in Philosophy at Royal Holloway University, London. He new book is a serious deep dive into the sociology of cursing: FOR F*CK’S SAKE: WHY SWEARING IS SHOCKING, RUDE & FUN.
