Tonight on Inquiry we talk about the future of the Arctic. This vast area, inhabited by a number of indigenous cultures, is under tremendous environmental stress due to global warming. But this area is also under political and economic scrutiny as countries like America, Russia, and China have plans to exploit the resources found there. It’s a complicated situation that more people need to know about. We talk with MIA BENNETT, an Associate Professor of Geography at the University of Washington and founder and editor of the blog Cryopolitics. Her new book, written with Klaus Dodds, is UNFROZEN: THE FIGHT FOR THE FUTURE OF THE ARCTIC.
